Kisii traders have backed Governor James Ongwae and vowed to support his re-election as the governor of Kisii county.
Speaking to our reporter at Daraja Mbili market in Kisii county, the traders have vowed to make sure Ongwae retains his seat as the governor following his tremendous efforts that he has made to transform the county.
Citing an example of their business, the traders say that under Ongwae, much has been achieved in the area of business more especially to them as open air traders compared to when the region was under the municipalities.
Therefore, the traders are urging fellow politicians to support him for another term so as he can perform and complete the projects he had set for the Kisii county.
"We have achieved much as traders in the Kisii county market department and the entire traders in various areas including those of us in open air markets," said Joyce Sangara, an onion vendor at Daraja Mbili market.
According to some Kisii county residents, Ongwae has been ranked among the best performing governors especially in the Nyanza region due to the rapid development achieved under his leadership.
