Following the County Government of Migori's security alert to its residents over threats of terror attacks, Kisii County Government has taken cue from its neighbor and put the area residents on security alert over terror threats and attacks.
Ongwae has challenged all residents and institutions in the County to be vigilant and alert all the time to avert infiltration of the region with terror cells as it will destabilize the County's security and socio-economic development.
Speaking at Gusii Stadium during the official launch of the County Flag and other instruments of power in his County administration, Ongwae called on members of the public to work closely with various security agencies across the County through sharing of information on suspected terror cells and activities for prompt action to safeguard the region from terror threats and attacks.
"I am taking this opportunity to issue security alert across our County, since our next door neighbor, Migori County has done the same and we cannot leave anything to chance in matters security to our people and property,” stated Ongwae
The Governor also asked the security agencies on the ground to ensure all public institutions, particularly learning institutions which are currently the target of the terror attacks are well protected and secured from any external invasion.
