The Kisii County administration is employing more instructors to ease biting shortage at the village youth polytechnics.
At least 200 tutors will be hired in the next few weeks said the County Governor James Ongwae.
The move comes in the wake of recent protests by tutors demanding appointment letters from the governor.
For months a number of centers had been crying foul with most of their students going for months without lessons.A spot check by Hivisasa.com found many of the polytechnics still in bad shape.

But Governor Ongwae said he was looking into the issue to ensure learning is back to normal.
“The first among the steps is to ensure the centres have enough tutors and then we move to furnish them with equipment. We are setting funds aside to deal with all these challenges,” he said.
