The second CJ under the new constitution is facing ouster motion after a lawyer filed a petition for his removal over gross misconduct.

Speaking on Tuesday in Kisii High Court after surviving a poll petition, Ongwae warned the Jubilee leadership against with hunting judiciary officials.

"I want to urge our Jubilee brothers to keep off Maraga and the judiciary. This is the only remaining institution Kenyans can seek justice.

"It is grossly unfair to politicize court judgments. Both NASA and Jubilee are subject to court orders. We should move ahead without sabotaging the judiciary," he said.

Earlier on Tuesday, elders from SDA church urged the state to respect the rule of law and further warned against ouster motion on Maraga.

Last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta warned that he will 'fix' the judiciary after losing election petition filed by Raila Odinga.
