Over 2000 workers were transferred to Nyeri and Eldoret while those who lost their job have started feeling the joblessness pinch.

Here are some of the reactions:

"I wonder if there are leaders in this county. They are just physical present!" Maureen Nyakerario said."Now that the Kisii bottlers(coca ~cola) were moved away from Kisii and taken to Nyeri(mount Kenya bottlers) affecting over 1k employees yet @JamesOngwae 's Banana project and avocado oil firm is a dream. How is Prosperity Alive!?@KisiiCountyGov," tweeted Mogeni Innocent.

"Ongwae is not a leader if he can remain silent and see his people poor. At least this is his last term," said Victor Osoro, a Kisii resident.

"The Gusii leaders should unite and bring an investor to start a new production company because the employees who have been left jobless have production skills to help the new company grow," Beavon Magare said.

"I was a casual labour at the company and I have lost my job due to hungry people who want everything for themselves yet my governor is silent," said Faith Kerubo, a victim.

"My soda business will be affected as the wholesale prices will be altered. The economy in this county will shake due to poor governance," said Kinuthia Maina, a soda distributor in Kisii.

Governor James Ongwae has however remained silent about the closure of one the production companies in the county.

Kisii bottlers authorities have not given a clear explanation about the closure which has left residents confused.
