Kisii Governor James Ongwae maintains that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga will win Gusii votes despite inroads made by Jubilee administration.
Jubilee strategists had earmarked the region as swing, a move that has seen top leaders from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s faction traverse the region.
And on Monday, Ongwae dismissed influence of Jubilee in the region and warned locals against reelecting Uhuru whom he accused of abandoning the region.
“We have moved from every corner and people are ready to vote NASA. Jubilee gave us a raw deal and I am optimistic that we shall carry the day,” he said.
“They may be moving around with their money but we cannot allow them to brainwash our people. We are ready to fight tooth and nail,” headed.
Jubilee campign was re-energized after former Kitutu Chache South ODM activist Antony Kibagendi ditched the Ongwae led camp.
Also spearheading Jubilee campaigns include Kisii senator Chris Obure and a host of outgoing MPs from the region.
