James Ongwae says he will work ‘extra hard’ to ensure he locks Jubilee administration of vote rich Gusii region.
Figures released by IEBC shows the larger Gusii region that comprises of Nyamira and Kisii counties have hit 800,000 votes and have been earmarked by Jubilee as a swing region.
At Keumbu town on Tuesday, Ongwae said he will use up to his last coin to lock out President Uhuru Kenyatta’s chances.
“We are not in NASA for trial because we know what they can do for us. Odinga is devolution friendly and we expect more to grassroots,” he said.
The ODM governor added: “I will work with my team to ensure Jubilee is completely locked out of the entire Gusii region.
While Jubilee is depending on Senator Chris Obure for delivery, NASA has banked on Ongwae and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire to deliver from the region.
In 2013, Odinga scooped at least 70 percent of votes but analysts say the graph might tilt due to inroads made by Jubilee in the last four years.
