Kisii Governor James Ongwae maintains that he will join other ODM leaders to defend ‘territorial’ integrity of the Orange Party.
The ODM party is increasingly under pressure to maintain its strongholds with a looming Jubilee Party wave, especially in Gusii region.
Speaking on Monday, Ongwae who hosted Mr Raila Odinga on Saturday said the party will fight hard to take full control over the regions that have been under onslaught from Jubilee.
“We know our territories and we will defend them tooth and nail. We cannot allow strangers to invade our strongholds yet we know that elections are nearing. It’s time that Jubilee knows we must defend our regions,” he said.
“We have a strategy and soon we will roll it out. The party remains strong and as leaders, we are keen to even invade Jubilee areas because their time is now over. We are not ready for anything that is not an ODM government,” he added.
Mr Ongwae is facing a strong Jubilee team with Senator Chris Obure recently decamping to Jubilee and is poised to challenge his reelection in 2017.
