Kisii Governor James Ongwae has fired a warning to Jubilee allied politicians from the region maintaining that they have to support opposition leader Raila Odinga to be relevant in area politics.
Mr Ongwae is facing a tough challenge from a group of politicians allied to Jubilee Party led by area Senator Chris Obure.
And on Wednesday during campaigns at Nyacheki ward, Ongwae insisted that the region remained an ODM zone and urged residents to vote out Jubilee politicians.
“Sometimes we should not run away from reality and people know that. This is an ODM zone and you must sing the name of our party leader if you want to remain relevant in regional politics,” he said.
“Raila has been an indispensable figure in the liberation of this country and we are enjoying devolution courtesy of great work he has done. We owe him a lot as a community and my appeal to residents is that let us reject people propagating Jubilee agenda in Gusii,” added Ongwae.
He challenged young people to register as voters to ensure the top leadership of the country is taken by the Orange party.
“The young people will play a crucial role in terms of deciding the future of this nation. Let us ensure the ODM government is in place,” he said.
