Kisii Governor James Ongwae has called on leaders to embrace dialogue to foster healing following the last general elections.

Speaking during a ceremony to light the Governor’s Christmas Tree, Ongwae said it was important for the country’s top political leadership to dialogue.

“Elections are now over and we all know they were divisive. Dialogue is the only way forward because differences will always be there even at the family level,” said Governor Ongwae.

Ongwae Thanked all well-wishers who donated to the Christmas Tree, the Governor said it was important to remember the less fortunate during the festive season in line with the centuries-old Christmas tradition.

“As we reach out to family and friends, I hope we shall also open our hearts to those who are lonely and in need, citizens less fortunate than ourselves, families who have lost their loved ones and the homeless,” said Ongwae.

He also sent his congratulations to schools that performed well in the last KCSE exams among them Riokindo Boys, Kisii School, St Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls and Nyabisase.

The county boss asked the ministry of education to address the issue of many candidates who failed to score the minimum university entry grade adding that matters education need careful consideration.

On the development agenda, the governor pledged to hit the ground running in January to ensure speedy implementation of development projects.
