[Photo/Simba N Joseph] Kisii county governor James Ongwae has sent a strict message to the staffs working for the county in his new year address to the officials.Ongwae said the county executives should be prepared to deliver in 2018 or face the sack."You must deliver services because that is your mandate chief officers who sleep on the job will not be spared," said Ongwae."It will not be business as usual. You should remember you never entered county government to earn a salary but to serve the people who are your bosses," he added.The county boss also urged residents to monitor his government performance. Ongwae was speaking at Nyakoe Hotel on Sunday during the end of year party.In January the county government will conduct a physical head count for her staff in a bid to regularise the payroll. There have been claims that more than 1,000 county employees could be ghost workers.
