Gatundu North online job seekers have been advised to be keen not to fall into the trap of fraudsters.
"It being January where many desperate jobless youth seek to be employed, you should have your eyes wide open when looking for a job. Please do not send any money to any recruiting company or person before you are assured of job rest you fall into the trap," said Nancy Mwangi who is Gatundu North sub county public affairs head.
Addressing youth in Kamwangi Social Hall after completing an entrepreneurial training on Monday, Ms Mwangi noted that many youth in the area were educated but were jobless.
She advised the youth to engage themselves to meaningful activities where they can make a living instead of remaining idle all the time.
"You are now graduates and I hope the sessions have had made a difference in your business and entrepreneurial skills. Kindly use the skills to implement the ideas you had and avoid remaining idle all the times. This way, you will avoid engaging in crimes," she said.
She cited examples of poultry farming, sack gardening and basketry as ventures that had wide opportunities and market urging the youth to start thinking business and employment.
"It is good to be employed but a job you are administering yourself is better. Think employing not being employed," she told youth.
She told youth that the government was committed to helping them achieve their dreams by offering both Uwezo and Youth Enterprise Development Funds.
The session that started on Saturday and ended on Monday afternoon saw 25 youth from different wards trained on entrepreneurship courtesy of the sub county public affairs department.
