President Uhuru Kenyatta has been asked to convene a meeting with opposition leaders so as to dialogue on the country's way forward.

Turkana Central MP Lodebe Nakara says negotiating with the opposition is the best available avenue to ensure the current political stalemate is resolved.

Speaking in Eldoret during mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the ODM lawmaker noted that issues being raised by the opposition are valid and should not be ignored.

He warned president's handlers against misadvising him.

"Those advising the president should be careful not to mislead him that everything is okay when it's not," noted Lodebe.

"We have issues we want addressed and the president needs to call for a meeting with Raila and other opposition leaders as this is the only way this nation will be able to move forward," he added.
