Oburu said it was unfortunate for the Leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale to say the opposition was planning to use the electronic voter process to rig the elections.

He said the opposition is against rigging in the coming polls and cannot be linked to any form of voter irregularities.

“We have been against cases of rigging, how again can we be accused of plotting to rig?" he asked.

The ODM nominated legislator said it is the Jubilee government that is planning to rig the polls.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Monday, Oburu said the electronic voter tallying system will use batteries to power them thus being able to operate anywhere across the country.

He noted that Duale’s aim is to distract the attention of Kenyans from their intention of amending the Elections Act that was agreed upon by both the government and the opposition.

Oburu said Cord will not accept amendments to the reforms to be tabled in Parliament by Duale that will allow the use of both manual and electronic process in the next polls.
