"It is the people to decide whether Raila steps down or not. If he steps down, for who?" posed Mbadi to a Star newspaper journalist.

This comes after the Cord leader said the coalition was working with the international community to come up with the preferred candidate for 2017.

The Cord coalition flag bearer position is being eyed by Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.

The MPs said Raila cannot make the decision on his own but will have to engage all stakeholders to decide who carries the coalition's flag come 2017.
