Kiambu county governor William Kabogo has advocated Kenyans to have a public participation in deterrence and combating terror attack in the country.
The governor who was speaking on Sunday during a church service at Priesthood church in Kahawa Ruiru constituency said that public places should be allowed to Kenyans with Identification Cards only and failure to produce; they should be barred from the premise.
He said that in cases of sports activity in stadiums and restaurants, the gate person should ask for IDs from Kenyans before they are allowed in the stadium or restaurants.
‘”The Kenyan restaurants and hoteliers should direct workers to demand the production of a valid IDs before someone enters even a fast food restaurants, and as well create a place for bags to be left outside just like in supermarkets,” noted Kabogo
The county boss said that the only way in combating terrorism, Kenyans should work as a unit and not to wait for the government to do something for them but what can they do to tame terror attacks.
“The situation of terror should not be asking what the government can do for Kenyans but ask what I can do to participate in combating and taming terrorist in my country,” said the governor.
He advocated Matatu owners to do the same insisting Kenyans can tame insecurity if we all work as a team since Kenya is greater than individuals.
“We are 40 million Kenyans and we should not be cowed by a few, thus if the worst comes to worst, then Kenyans should be allowed to own body armor to protect themselves from terrorist bullets,” ridiculed Kabogo.
