Land actors at the Coast are supporting Raila Odinga being the people’s President saying that he is the only person who understands how Kenyans are suffering.
The non state land actors led by the National Land Protection Organization of Kenya Chair Dewelly Nyambu said that Raila was the only person who would fight for the implementation of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation report which will also solve land crisis in the country.
Speaking in Mombasa on Tuesday, Nyambu said that the current Jubilee leadership would not help locals or uplift their living standards that is why the actors are fully backing Raila’s leadership.
According to Nyambu, Jubilee government refused to fully implement the TJRC report knowing that it will touch on the high and mighty in the National administration.
Nyambu said that it was meaningless for the National government to spend millions of shillings meeting victims in all parts of the country but later dump the whole report and fail to implement it.
“Raila is so close to Kenyans compared to the current leadership and he might turn the tables and ensure we all get justice,” added Nyambu.
He said that the Coast region was badly affected by land conflicts which would only be solved if TJRC report was fully implemented.
Nyambu said that both the old and the current leadership did not show any interest in solving the land problem at the Coast despite promising residents an amicable solution to the problem.
“We can’t keep quiet while our people are evicted from their native land every day, we want the leaders to solve the crisis and not giving us empty promises,” added Nyambu.
He termed Jubilee government efforts of issuing title deeds to Coastal residents as mere political gimmick since the titles were only issued during political campaigns and most of them were not genuine.
