Kenyans should bank on Deputy President William Ruto in solving land problems in the country, an MP from Coast has said.
Ali Mbogo (Kisauni, Wiper) said on Wednesday that the deputy president, from the time the Jubilee administration cam to power in 2013 has enabled many Kenyans to secure land titles.
The lawmaker made the remarks at Junda in Kisauni during his development tour of the constituency.
"We all need to support the Deputy President's goal of ensuring land wrangles end in the country," he said.
"He has good intentions in ensuring each Kenyan owns land."
Mombasa county, and in extension Coast region is among zones that have received the highest number of land titles from 2013 when Jubilee took over power.
During his first visit to Mombasa after being elected into office, president Uhuru Kenyatta assured Mombasa residents that his government will ensure the land prolonged land problem in the county comes to an end.
Mombasa has large parcel of land which residents claim were grabbed shortly after independence and residents have been pushing for the issuance of land titles for thousands of squatters living in the land.
During Ruto's lat visit to Mombasa last month, the DP said the Jubilee administration will not frustrate any Kenyan's efforts to secure land title.
