Jubilee Party aspirant Esther Kache has expressed confidence that she will floor her opponents in the race to replace Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro.

Kache has pledged to construct roads and set up market centers among other projects that will make Kilifi North a better place.

“Most roads in Kilifi North are not in good shape. We only have one market, which cannot cope with the rising demands. My vision is to build a modern market in Mnarani,” said Kache, as quoted by the Nation.

The race to take over Mung’aro, who has declared interest in the Kilifi governorship, has already attracted seven aspirants.

Aspirants eying the seat include Lawrence Kilabo (Jubilee), Edward Mwamuye (Amani National Congress (ANC), Eliud Kalama (Wiper), Pascal Maitha (Kadu-Asili) and Anthony Kingi, who is yet to declare his political outfit.

All the seven aspirants have assured the residents they will take the constituency to the next level in terms of development if elected.

On his part, Mung’aro said he has done a lot for the area while urging his successor to do better.

The outspoken MP cited infrastructure nd security among the issues he has addressed since being elected in 2013.

“I have improved infrastructure in several schools by building 93 primary and secondary schools, laboratories as well as refurbishing others. I have also built several police stations and posts,” he said.

The MP also boasts of solving the problem of water shortages in various areas in the constituency.

“I have also initiated water projects among other projects. The bar has already been set so high for the incoming MP,” he added.

Baya, another aspirant, has promised to revive the farming sector through modern methods while Maitha says his main agenda is fighting for the rights of marginalized women as well as youths.

Kalama, Kilabo, Kingi and Mwamuye said they entered the race because the current leadership has failed.
