Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's ally Onyango Oloo has ditched the Jubilee Party and for Raila Odinga's ODM.
However, one of the most fundamental issues that Kenyans should have seen is that no leader has a permanent enemy when it comes to the political game.
The former TNA secretary general was instrumental in Uhuru's election as Kenya's fourth president in the 2013 elections and at that time, he objected Raila Odinga at all levels.
However, today, Oloo is singing a new song. He has taken a deep thought in his political career and opted to join the ODM, a party, and has even hinted at joining the race for the Kisumu Central parliamentary seat come August.
His decision to ditch Uhuru is not a new thing in Kenyan politics. At one time during the heated up campaigns to the 2007 general election, Raila Odinga, William Ruto, Uhuru Kenyatta and Aden Duale were all in one team; (ODM) before the group split up in the race for the 2013 elections.
Onyango Oloo's move to decamp to the ODM from Jubilee is a lesson to Kenyans to stop holding political grudges due to their political affiliations.
If Raila and Oloo held political grudges since 2013, then it would not have been possible for Oloo to join the ODM.
As the country braces itself for the August 2017 elections, Kenyans should maintain peace at all times because the leaders they tend to 'fight' for are enjoying peace and dining together without looking at the background of the other.
It is only through peace that the country can forge forward and enjoy great development.
