Two Orange Democratic Movement rebels from Kisii County on Monday apologized for ‘betraying’ party leader Raila Odinga by associating with Jubilee government.
Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache South) and Simon Ogari were surprise visitors at the National Governing Council meeting that was convened at the Bomas of Kenya.
Speaking during the meeting, the duo pledged to work with the party by supporting its activities across the country and challenged their counterparts to receive them back.
“I may have been seen working with Jubilee but no single days have ever attacked our party leader in any manner. I respect him and I am sorry for what I have done before. I am ready to work with the party again,” he said.
“To be honest, I am a life member of the party and I can’t remember the day I have gone against the party. However some call me a mole but I remain a dedicated member of the party. We will work together and ensure Jakom(Raila wins) added Ogari.
The two campaigned for a Jubilee candidate vigorously in Nyacheki but eventually lost to an ODM candidate in last Wednesday’s by elections.
