This sentiments came a few days after the Thursday’s standoff in parliament that saw atleast eight MPs thrown out of the chambers for heckling President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Odinga had called a press conference on Friday to defend the MPs on spot saying they were protesting on bad governance.

But the ODM rebel Mp on Saturday took on his party leader and challenged him to apologise on behalf of the errant members.

“When one disagrees with the coalition on ideological principles, you are de-whipped from parliamentary committees for no good reason," said Onyonka.

"As a reasoning MP, I don’t have to agree with everything Cord says because we have no democracy,” he added.

“ODM MPs embarrassed the president on Thursday but I am shocked that the Party Leader went on air to back such uncouth behavior. He is a national leader who should not tolerate such impunity and I expect him to apologise on behalf of the members who misbehaved,” Onyonka added.

He warned of an imminent loss in 2017 polls if Odinga fails to ‘clean’ the house by kicking out MPs who openly embarrass his leadership.

“I have no problem with him (Odinga) but there are some few lieutenants who hang around him doing all mannerism of bad things," said Onyonka.

"He must kick them out if he wants to remain relevant in Kenyan politics. Such fellows whom he defends are a big embarrassment to our young generation,” he said.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and ODM chairman John Mbadi are among Raila’s lieutenants who were kicked out of parliament on the Thursday incident.
