Mr Onyonka had started warming to Jubilee Party despite his long-term associating with the Orange Party but in the recent days, he has been off the public limelight.

And on Tuesday a source currently planning for Raila’s visit to Kisii later on Saturday sensationally claimed that the MP tried to meet Raila and have a ‘talk’ in vain despite Mr Odinga reportedly being in office in early Friday morning.

“There no doubt that Onyonka was denied access to Upper Hill offices when he tried hard to get an appointment. He tried so hard but the former PM had some other engagements in his office that is why he wasn’t allowed in,” said the source.

The source added: “He wants to get back to ODM despite his earlier defection statement and I can assure you, he has also lined some other rebels for a reconciliation mission. Mr Odinga promised to meet him soon for a longer engagement.”

On a morning phone call on Wednesday, Onyonka could neither deny nor admit the claim but insisted that elections were far for someone to make a right political move.

“You know in politics all things are possible but for me, I still have time and when the opportunity comes, people will know what I stand for,” he said.
