Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka says the decision by Nyamira Senator Okong’o Mong’are to launch presidential bid is a scheme by Jubilee to scuttle ODM votes in Gusii region.
Onyonka further urged Gusii people to ‘disown’ Mong’are’s move on grounds that he did not seek blessings of the community.
The former ODM rebel insisted that Gusii region was solidly behind opposition leader Raila Odinga whom he described as a ‘true nationalist’.
“Okong’o is being used by Jubilee to scuttle ODM votes in Gusii, a plan which will still fail. He never consulted the community before making such a political move,” he said on Kisii County Whatsap Forum.
“Gusii region still remains a solid ODM stronghold and I can tell that through experience. We are solidly behind Raila Odinga, a man with true national values,” he added.
He warned Okong’o of an impending political animosity from the residents adding that Jubilee administration had performed dismally in the region.
