Richard Onyonka believes that the Gusii community would vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta should Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka bolt out of opposition alliance NASA.
Seemingly unsettled in the coalition, the former Vice President however has maintained that he would not leave the opposition outfit.
And the Kitutu Chache South MP, a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga warns that the alliance has to ‘put’ its house inj order to avoid giving Jubilee unprecedented advantage.
“The Kisii community has always had a soft spot on the Kenyatta’s. Nasa must organize itself to curb Jubilee from making inroads in this region,” He wrote in The Star.
Onyonka, a former ODM rebel added: “It will be even suicidal if Kalonzo leaves. These people believe that the alliance can only beat Jubilee if they remain intact. That is the only way we can keep them at bay.”
The second time legislator also says Kenyatta could increase his advantage if he faces electorates in person rather than using ‘conmen’.
In April ODM primaries, Onyonka would face a stiff challenge from former mayor Sam Omwando and youthful politician Antony Kibagendi.
