Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has hailed the police recruitment exercise in his constituency.
Speaking to this reporter on Tuesday, Onyonka said his constituency shared the 12 slots they had been given by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).
The recruitment of the officers for Kitutu Chache South constituency took place at St. Mary's Mosocho Primary School.
"I applaud the officers who took charge of the recruitment exercise that took place on Monday. The 12 slots for our constituency were shared among the wards whereby each ward scooped two slots each except Kitutu Central and Bogusero Wards that got three slots each because of their size," said Onyonka.
He asked the youths from the constituency who missed the opportunity not to despair but remain optimistic.
"I ask all those who participated in the exercise but missed the opportunity to remain hopeful that one day they will get it. However, I ask them to engage in meaningful activities that can generate income for them to be self-reliant," said the legislator.
The exercise took place countrywide whereby 10,000 officers were recruited, following the nullification of last year's exercise that is alleged to have been marred with irregularities.
