Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka was yet again thrown into a limbo on Thursday afternoon when he made his entry to Kisii Sports Club, where opposition leader was addressing thousands of his followers on importance of voter registration.
Onyonka’s strained relationship with ODM supporters emanated from his previous cordial partnership with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
The former Orange Democratic Movement rebel rejoined his party during a National Executive Council at Bomas of Kenya last year where he officially apologized to Odinga.
Angry supporters tried to block the MPs entry to Kisii Sports Club with some challenging him to join Jubilee Party.
The second term MP lost his constituency Chairmanship to former Kisii town Mayor Sam Omwando, who is also poised to challenge him in the ODM primaries later on in March.
Mr. Odinga led several other Gusii leaders in a mega rally at Daraja Mbili market where they urged locals to register as voters in numbers.
