Onyonka’s statements come moments after rumor circulated in social media (Gusii Alliance Facebook) that Mr Gichana who has been in Arusha Prison for four years was released following a lengthy discussion between President John Maghufuli and Former Kenyan Premier Raila Odinga.

And in an exclusive interview with the reporter on Sunday, Onyonka dismissed the speculations and insisted that he was sure of an outright victory in 2017 polls.

‘I saw people saying a lot of things about me and my imagery competitor (Bosco). I don’t fear anyone leave alone him. I have the will of the people and I am ready to face all my competitors,” he said.

“Most of my critics are ODM orphans who thought I’ll not leave a disorganized party like it. We are living in a democratic nation and I have reasons why I joined Jubilee. If that’s the reason they think I will lose to him, and then let it be. However, I am sure of retaining my seat regardless the resistance,” he said.

Bosco is expected to be released in due course from the Arusha prison after a credible source revealed on Saturday that Mr. Odinga has reached a mutual agreement with President Maghufuli, a claim which was partly confirmed by ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire who termed the release “very close’.
