More witnesses have vowed to appear before the Kisumu court to give more evidence on the ongoing case against Kitutu Chache legislator, Richard Onyonka for failing to account for CDF funds.
According to some of the witnesses who recently appeared before the Kisumu law court, the MP fraudulently failed to pay Sh21, 250, 673.90 Value Added Tax (VAT) to Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and failed to account how he used Sh36 million that was set aside for development projects.
Though during the hearing that was held on 24th December 2016 some of the CDF officials led by George Morara, Counsels Richard Onsongo, and Steven Orina dismissed the claims that the MP mismanaged the CDF Kitty.
However, Onyonka had been accused of the 1st Count with conspiracy to commit an offense involving an economic crime contrary to section 47(A) (3) as read with section 48(1) of the Anti-corruption and economic crimes Act, 2003.
Magistrate Obutu adjourned the case to January 16, 2017.
