Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka is a ‘featherweight’ who will be crashed in 2017 polls just before sunrise, former Kisii Mayor Samuel Omwando has declared.
The two leaders have been having a historical rivalry with the former accusing the mayor of stage managing ODM youths to make his day difficult during Nyacheki ward by-elections last week.
But Omwando on Thursday dismissed the claims insisting that Mr Onyonka was ‘unpopular’ and could not win any competitive elections.
“He was chased from Nyacheki because he could not convince voters. He is a featherweight and I just need few hours to crash him moments after the poll centers open in 2017 elections,” he said.
“He is unpopular and that is the fact. We cannot allow people without political stands to lead us. His skewed management of CDF funds will be repaid by being voted out. He cannot beat me in an election and I am happy he is aware,” he added.
Mr Onyonka first joined parliament in 2007 and has since ditched his sponsor party ODM for Jubilee. He was almost lynched by rowdy ODM youths during Nyacheki by-election on Wednesday where the Jubilee candidate whom he was supporting lost to ODM.
