Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has dared the ODM Kisii County branch officials to evict him from the party insisting that only ODM party leader Raila Odinga can do so.
Onyonka hit the headlines last week when he rejoined ODM after several years of courting the Jubilee administration contrary to the party’s wishes, a move that almost led to his expulsion from the party.
And on Monday in his backyard, Onyonka said he was among the pioneer members of the party and accused unnamed people of ‘sabotage’ within the Orange party.
“Some of us have made worthy sacrifices within the party and I remember when they rigged me out in the 2007 primaries, I still voted for Kenneth Marende as ODM's preferred speaker in Parliament. I am one of the pioneer members of the party,” he said.
“It’s only the party leader who can order me out of the party and I don’t think he can do so. Those opposing my presence in the party should get warned. I made ODM what it is today and the small confusion that emerged is now history,” he added.
He said he is ready to face his rivals in fair party primaries insisting that he was confident of winning the seat for the third consecutive term.
