Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has urged the Luhya Community to vote out the Jubilee administration during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking in Mumias East constituency on Tuesday, Oparanya cautioned the community against reelecting President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying his administration had failed the community.
The governor further observed that those backing Jubilee Party had betrayed the community.
“The President came here in December and promised that the Ibokolo-Shiada and Lurambi-Nambacha-Bungoma roads will be tarmacked but nothing has happened to date,” he said.
The ODM Deputy party leader challenged the community to instead back Opposition alliance NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the forthcoming general elections, saying he was the only candidate with the community's interest at heart.
He also announced that he would succeed Mr Odinga after the 2017 polls.
“I have told Raila that he must make sure he does not miss the target this time because he has one bullet. If he misses again, I will try my luck for the top seat because I have also supported him,” he stated.
