Oparanya says this is a way of Khalwale smearing his name in the mud so as to become governor next year.

The governor was speaking at the Navokholo Catholic Church on Sunday where he challenged Khalwale to provide evidence that he had been embezzling the county funds.

“I am paid Sh1 million and that is enough for me to put my life in order. I was once a minister and that comes with money as well which I have invested well,” said Oparanya.

Khalwale has hit out at Oparanya several times accusing the governor of embezzling funds from the county. In relation to this, Oparanya told the senator that if indeed he has proof that he has been guzzling the county funds, he should provide the evidence to the police for further investigations to be conducted.

The two have been at each other’s necks for a while but the final blow came about when Khalwale showed interest in the governor seat.

The squabble has even turned into several physical fights between the two at public functions.
