Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has hailed his ODM party leader Raila Odinga, following his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday.
"I hail the Rt Hon Raila Odinga's decision to join hands with President Uhuru to promote national cohesion in the country following the divisive 2017 polls," said Oparanya, adding that it is time for NASA coalition constituent parties to go back to the drawing board and strength themselves for 2022.
"There is no point for squabbles among the principals," he said on Saturday in Butere.
While in Malava Sub-county, last Saturday, Oparanya asked Raila to focus on uniting Kenyans as the People's President.
"My people, always take my words seriously, because I know what am talking about."
Speaking during the funeral service of the late Senior Private Hesborn Morris Otuma who passed on in line of duty in Somalia last month, Oparanya also cleared the air on the misconception created by social media that he had abandoned NASA for Jubilee, when he called on Raila to concentrate on national healing and assemble a united team that will clinch the presidency in 2022.
Also present were the Kakamega County Assembly Speaker Morris Buluma, Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda, Butere MP Tindi Mwale, Shinyalu MP Kizito Mugali and several MCAs.
