Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has responded to reports linking him Jubilee Party.
Speaking on Tuesday in Kakamega, Oparanya stated that he had not joined Jubilee and the reports were meant to tarnish his name.The county boss who was speaking in Lugari, further dismissed claims that he was in talks with Deputy President William Ruto regarding the 2022 presidential race.
Earlier reports had indicated that Oparanya was in talks with DP Ruto to be his running mate during the 2022 presidential race.
He affirmed that he is in the National Super Alliance (NASA) to stay and he had nothing to do in Jubilee.
Oparanya stated that those who lost in the August 8 polls are looking for state jobs by joining Jubilee.
"I have a job. What would I be going to Jubilee to do? Those saying I am in Jubilee are idlers who think we are still in the season of political campaigns," the Governor stated.
Oparanya is also serves as the ODM deputy party leader.He was accompanied by Lugari MP Ayub Savula, who has been a subject of discussion after he announced that the AmaniNational Congress (ANC) was considering its position in NASA
