Kakamega governor, Wycliffe Oparanya has come out to warn Senator Bonny Khalwale against his remarks of warning Cord leader, Raila Odinga against imposing a gubernatorial candidate in Kakamega County.
The governor said that despite him and Khalwale being in the same coalition, they belong to two different political parties and so competition is a must.
Oparanya said that the upcoming tour of Raila to Kakamega County is purely an ODM affair and he should be allowed to popularise the party in the county.
The leader advised the senator not to be threatened by Raila’s tour to the region.
‘‘I advise Dr. Khalwale not to feel jittery when the ODM Party Leader traverses parts of Kakamega County to meet the electorate, talk to them and exchange ideas. His party too can do the same,’’ read part of a statement written by the governor.
Oparanya made it clear that he is not one to be imposed on the electorate and that he has the time and energy to lure the Kakamega people into voting him in as governor once more.
Khalwale has also declared in the gubernatorial seat.
