Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to endorse him for 2022 presidential race.
Oparanya said the former Prime Minister had unsuccessfully vied for the position several times hence need for him to endorse 'new blood' in the next general elections.
"Raila is a king maker, he should give up vying for presidency and in turn endorse someone capable. I am the man," Oparanya said.
He spoke in Lugari constituency, Kakamega County on Thursday.
Oparanya said by Raila doing so, he will be paying him back for all the time he rallied behind him in his candidacy.
"It will be an act of loyalty repayment, scratch my back I scratch yours," Oparanya said.
He exhibited confidence of battling it out with Deputy President William Ruto, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua among other candidates who have shown interests in the presidential seat come 2022.
Oparanya said it will be a chance for the Mulembe community to have a taste of the presidential seat.
