Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Sunday told Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to rethink his stand on working with Jubilee ahead of 2017.
Oparanya said Mr Moi should join other opposition leaders and form the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) and challenge Jubilee during next year's polls.
"Tell Gideon Moi to join us," he said at Sokotei, Baringo South during the thanksgiving ceremony for ODM National Executive Committee member Amos Olempaka.
"If he continues waiting there (Jubilee), he will lose. He has nothing to celebrate there."
Opposition leaders Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Isaac Ruto (CCM) are crafting an alliance that will field one candidate to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.
There is also speculation that Mr Moi is in talks with the leaders to join the group.
"The president of this country has said openly that he will be president until 2022," Oparanya added.
"When he leaves, his deputy will take over until 2032. So is Moi ready to wait until 2032?"
Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma expressed confidence NASA will take over the government in 2017.
