Many Garissa locals know Duale as a vocal politician from the NEP region who has a very close and unlimited reach to the presidency.
However, what many other Kenyans know of Duale is his self proclaimed sycophancy and the sharp tongue that can heal or kill.
Famously known for his 'Pesa si ya mamako' statement, Duale risks losing grip on his legislative seat in 2017 following his recent utterances surrounding Waberi locals.
Political science recognizes propaganda as one of the best ways of attaining political mileage, especially if propagated against rivals. But if directed on the electorate as Duale did, adverse feedback is unavoidable as they are the most powerful force to either promote or demote.
It is evident that Duale is likely to be demoted if he does not make timely apologies to the locals of Waberi.
Calling for eviction of the non-locals because of their loyalty to the opposition can be likened to hurling venom at the voters. It goes against their constitutional rights of democracy and freedom to chose their leaders.
Forcing or manipulating people to vote for one's favorite aspirant with threats is uncalled for and deserves mass condemnation.
Even as Kaparo's commission displays open reluctance to summon the MP, the electorate may not fail to exercise the power of their voting cards. Duale may go scot-free under the watch of the toothless judiciary, but he will never evade the wrath of the electorate.
