To many people, beating Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua in the next general election is close to impossible and an uphill task.
But my thinking is quite different. It could be because as a political strategist everything is possible to me. But wait, they also say politics is the art of the possible.
Here is just how to defeat him:
To begin with, you must understand Mutua's core competence and stronghold. According to me it is his Public relations.
So to beat him you have to get a fully functional PR unit that includes social media. Some of Mutua's competitors have not a Facebook page or if they have it has less than 7,000 likes.
This means they have not appealed to the entire demographic from Machakos county in social media. Well, how will the votes not on the ground know what you are up to if they can't see it in social media.
This is a big consideration according to me. There is still time to create social Media portals that can beat Mutua's.
Secondly, befriend the Media just like Governor Mutua. Once in a while pop in to national TV or radio stations but major on the local radio stations at strategic hours like the evening.
That's where the masses are. Connect with them. Lastly for today, find a way of tearing Mutua's reputation down. Well it may sound rough but politics is not church business it is a dirty game.
Talk to the voters on audit questions raised by the Auditor general over the years. Use propaganda too.
Though I would not recommend its use now because there is time for the people to establish facts but it can properly work well a few days to the election.
