This week the topic of discussion has been secession. Some part of Kenya feel that they cannot be suppressed by two tribes and yet they can also rule. This has forced them to think about seceding. Some Kenyans have gone on twitter demanding for secession and leave Central and part of Rift valley regions alone as a nation of its own.

To me this is a noble idea. A nation can only exist when the inhabitants are happy with their rulers. But when it comes when some tribes/people feel that they are more superior than others then it ceases to be a nation. In Kenya, some tribes have been ruling this nation from independence todate.

This has not augured well with other tribes who feel are left out. They have been denied the chance to produce a president. This has made them prefer secession to being part of the status quo. The two tribes have undermined other tribes and called them lesser tribes. This is why I am for secession calls.

Suppression, oppression and arrogance of the ruling tribes has gone too high. They have mastered the art of rigging elections to force themselves in power. This means that the voice of the majority on the ballot cannot be heard. We have the computer to decide from our leaders and not the people to decide their leaders. This has demoralised voters. Many have vowed to vote again. This means the right to vote and be voted has been denied.

People vote for formality and not for change. So David Ndii's call for secession is worth. We need our voice to be heard on the ballot. Democracy cannot be compromised by software. We need where the majority have their way while the minority their say not vice versa.

Impunity cannot be tolerated any more. People need respect. If Kenya cannot respect them, then the only solution is to have their way to secede.
