Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has called upon his fellow Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to use an MOU in choosing presidential flag bearer.
According to the Daily Nation, Musyoka wants a gentleman's agreement in settling on whoever will face Jubilee's UhuruRuto as opposed to elections. Speaking at his Karen home during an exclusive interview, Musyoka said that it is common knowledge that there is no Cord without Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula and himself.
These sentiments are a pure show of cowardice from a veteran politician like Musyoka. Such a suggestion proves that he fears facing off Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM) Raila Odinga.
The only Cord presidential candidate Kalonzo is ready to contest against in Wetangula. The latter is considered the weakest option that can be fielded against Jubilee as suggest by Bifwoli Wakoli and political analysts.
Uhuru needs a competitor who is confident and a reputable campaigner. Someone that is able and willing to rally his/her troops behind him and show the nation that he/she is ready to take on the sitting government.
Being given the mandate to lead Cord without competitive nominations is a surety to failing. Cowards are never winners and they die severally in the battle field. If Musyoka can't win coalition nominations, how will he smash Jubilee?
