Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua is out to liberate the residents of this county from the injustices they have suffered since independence.
It is perturbing to note that a section of members of the county assembly are hatching a plot to throw him out before the end of his term.
The MCAs have been accusing the outspoken governor for abuse of office, integrity issues as well lack of public participation in when it comes to decision-making among other matters affecting the region.
These leaders have forgotten what the governor has done for the people of this region. As they move up and down looking for ways to bring him down, these politicians should know that Mutua has the cry of his people at heart.
One question they need to ask themselves is who will replace Mutua after they have impeached him. However, this does not mean that the governor should not include them in the affairs of the county.
Mutua cannot do it alone. He needs the support of other leaders from the county. As much as he is among the best leaders this county has ever had there is more that he should do to make it a better place.
This will only happen if the flamboyant governor involves his juniors in adminstrative roles.
