Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna has been trending on social media after a hot seat talk show together with other aspirants as hosted by KTN's Jeff Koinange on Wednesday.

The other panelists were Esther Passaris, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and former City Clerk Philip Kisia.

Before long it became evident that the Canada-based lawyer Miguna was the most prepared of the four as he brought with him a manifesto as well as a ledger to substantiate any claim against his opponents.

He went ahead to state that he was the only one vying for the seat as he was an independent candidate which guaranteed his name at the ballot.

The outspoken lawyer dismissed the rest, saying that they first had to wait for their yet-to-be-conducted party nominations where they were not assured of succeeding.

Miguna kept his cool throughout the interview, never interrupting when other members of the panel spoke their manifestos. However, the same could not be said of the rest who hardly let Miguna drive his points home without their constant interruptions.

He had a clear vision for Nairobi which rotated around a corruption-free city, a modern sewer system, traffic-free streets and employment for the youths.

But his vision was perhaps a futile idealist dream, something that prompted Bishop Wanjiru's dismissal through her “This is Africa” remark that indicated Miguna was aiming for the impossible.

The lawyer had to hit at Wanjiru's underbelly when he challenged her to prove her academic credentials and asked her to say what her college dissertation had been. Wanjiru is said to have fumbled at the meaning of 'dissertation'.

However, the one hour allocated for the show proved insufficient as they all had much more to say and Nairobians will pray that another similar show is aired to get the best from other aspirants including Kibera's household brand Esther Passaris.
