Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna is known for his verbal rant on issues when asked to give his opinions on certain matters. When he was recently invited to Jeff Koinange Live show on KTN, The barrister decided to go on rant, calling other contestants corrupt and leaders who have no integrity and thus should not be allowed to govern Nairobi. He even went ahead to say that he was arguing with fellows who are not learned and that such was a shame.

On Tuesday 20th September, Miguna said Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was a drug lord who was not to be allowed to govern the city as he would lead to the flourish of illegal businesses.

However, Miguna needs to understand that his attack on the shortcomings of others, perceived or real, will never earn him the votes of the people. He is quick to forget that he is an independent candidate and in Kenya, political parties play a big role on who gets what position in any elections. Rarely do private candidates make the cut. He should instead sell his ideology to the people and stop making his attacks as if that is how he is going to campaign for the remaining 11 months.

As 2017 fast approaches, the lawyer should find himself a good base for his arguments and woo as many Nairobians as possible if he is to become the next governor of Nairobi. He should also convince the people of Nairobi to elect him because he is qualified and not because he made his competitors appear unqualified in the eyes of the people. In fact, he should be fighting the dominance of the incumbent Evans Kidero and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko who have a strong following in the city.

Otherwise, if he maintains his verbal rants he will not see a thing in 2017.
