The KTN investigative journalist was pictured with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Cord principle Raila Odinga in Mombasa.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) have continued their cultural judgment based on political preferences.

On the other hand, the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has demanded sacking of all journalists who have been publicly partisan.

This is a wise move but I am forced to question the timing of the call.

Ali and his compatriot Dennis Onsarigo are the main target because this is not the first time such a scenario has surfaced.

The media governing body should have come out early to scrutinize the partial reporting that is witnessed in several mainstream media outlets rather than target individuals.

The two who were pictured with opposition leaders have a right to associate with anyone.

We cannot rule out the fact that they may have been looking for evidence to expose something to Kenyans, who have a right to access information.

What makes them a special case to the point of wanting their rights curtailed?

Our famed Constitution states in Article 24(1) that "a right shall not be limited except by law and then only to the extent that the limitation is reasonable and justifiable in an open and democratic society based on human dignity, equality and freedom and taking into account of all the relevant factors..."

The limitations should only be based on solid arguments like nature of the right, importance of the limitation, limitation's nature and extent as well as the circumstances that necessitates limitation.

On which grounds are were crucifying Ali, Onsarigo, Joho and Raila?
