Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been put on the spot for land grabbing in Mavoko. This comes a few weeks after he called Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua a “kidnapper”.
How will Ukambani entrust its leadership in politicians who keep mud-slinging each other? It’s unfortunate for one of the most respected leaders from this region to face the National Lands Commision (NLC) in order to clear his name from the list of “Land Grabbers”.
Although we will not sit back and watch the land that rightfully belongs to us being taken away by some leaders, it is our hope that Mutua has enough evidence against the former Vice President.
The battle for supremacy between Mutua and Kalonzo is coming at the wrong time. Different communities across the nation are uniting as we look forward to the next general elections.
It is a sad tale for the people of Ukambani to continue witnessing divisions among their leaders. The region needs to be united than before. We need leaders who will support the unity of this community and not those who will divide us for their political gain.
When other counties are hitting headlines because of creating jobs opportunities and initiating different projects, Ukambani is featuring because of kidnapping and land grabbing.
