Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap party confirmed that they will not field a presidential candidate in the next polls.
However, they will have someone contesting in 2022 and the most probable candidate is Governor Mutua.
This compels Mutua to endorse his competitor in the Ukambani supremacy battle, Kalonzo Musyoka, as the best president to replace President Kenyatta.
Governor Mutua is loved by many due to his pioneer efforts to develop Machakos. His popularity has made Mutua announce presidential ambitions.
The bold revelation has made him clash with former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka, Mama Charity Ngilu, the flamboyant city senator Mike Sonko, the outspoken Machakos senator Johnson Muthama and the new lioness, Wavinya Ndeti.
To foster some seasonal peace, he has to support his political foe. Most of Kamba leaders want Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) to endorse Kalonzo as its flag bearer.
Despite the differences that made Mutua to ditch Wiper Party and form Maendeleo Chap Chap, he has to support Musyoka for him to survive in Ukambani politics.
Boot-leaking Wiper Party leader is the only way Mutua will be assured of a smooth succession as the next political focal point. He has to do so to be politically right.
