If elections were held today, incumbent Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire will garner 44 per cent of votes according to results released by Informants Research Company.
Bosire has a significant lead over his close challenger Shadrack Mose, who managed 31 percent of votes.
Philanthropist Victor Ogeto managed 15 percent of the votes with 10 percent of respondent’s undecided out of 600 people who were interviewed in questionnaires between March 15 and April 10.
“We asked Kitutu Masaba residents to choose their preferred leader if elections were held and they made their decision. We visited all wards and picked 100 voters with gender and age being key factors,” said Deputy Research Director Jomo Abuga.
According to Abuga, Bosire was the darling of the youths and women having a steady lead of 65 and 60 percentages respectively ahead of his opponents but lost to Mose among men voters.
“The statics indicate that Bosire enjoys favourable support among youths and women, but Mose leads among the men voters. Also, Ogeto enjoys steady support among aged voters after managing 70 percent support,” he added.
He also said Bosire led in Manga, Magombo, and Kemera, while Mose enjoyed support in Rigoma and Gachuba wards. In Gesima, Bosire and Ogeto were head-on with both enjoying a 35 percent support.
“Lower Kitutu (Magombo, Kemera and Manga), Bosire leads his opponents while Mose enjoys a steady support from Gachuba and Rigoma. At Gesima, Bosire locks horns with Ogeto,” Abuga said during the release of the results at Keroka on Monday.
