Odinga said the education reforms were the only thing to smile about during this Jubilee regime but later demanded an audit of the same results.

What did Raila realize afterward that made his first statement a misjudge by a respected old man of his caliber?

If something good is done by Jubilee it is wise for the opposition to accept and move on if they really love Kenya.

Odinga had said: "We open 2017 with excitement brought by the changes at the Kenya National Examinations Council that have paid off. The new team at KNEC and the Ministry of Education deserve praise for restoring the credibility of exams. They have given us something to smile about in a year dominated by gloom.”

Then later, he turned the tables and said: “We have to go past performance tables and ensure the students get the qualifications they deserve. The Jubilee government wants Kenyans to believe that of the over 577,000 students who sat KCSE in 2016, only 15 per cent had the brains to take up university courses in Kenya. This is where we were as a nation almost 30 years ago. Something has gone terribly wrong and we need to get to the bottom of it as a nation.”
